If you are looking for an updated condo with beautiful sunsets and with a great base location for all of your Kona activities look no further.
Had a wonderful vacation. It was a way better experience than renting through Castle resorts.
Great whale watching and turtles from the Lani. Well stocked with everything we needed to prepare meals ,dishes to condiments.lovely breeze and comfortable lounge on the Lani.
The property is close to everything you will want to do.
Excellent location and very comfortable condo! We loved hearing the ocean all day and night and the condo was plenty roomy for our family of four. Thanks for the book of recommendations also, that was super nice to have and reference. There’s a beach nearby that’s excellent for boogie boarding, and few great snorkel spots within a couple miles as well. We will be back for sure, just loved our vacation here!
We loved watching turtles, surfers, fish and were treated the last day to dolphins!!. Although it was uncharacteristically drizzly and only in the low 70's most of our days, it was still so much nicer than home where there was snow and 20's. Constantly hearing the waves was so relaxing. We left the patio door open all night and heard the constant lull from the master bedroom. Unfortunately the second bedroom is at the front of the condo and our daughters could not hear them but did have other traffic noise. We had a maintenance issue our first full day, Bob responded immediately but could not help until after the Brew fest, which was fine because we were at the Brew fest too!!! The complex is a short drive into Kona. It is on the bus route which comes by about every 1.5 hours. Da Poke Shack is handy and tasty. Everything was clean. Beach towels, sand toys provided. We found everything we needed.
This was a perfect place for a family get away. The condo was clean and well furnished and even had some beach equipment to use as needed. The view from the master bedroom and lanai were spectacular. We saw turtles every day and dolphins several times. The location was perfect! Close enough to Kona to be convenient but just far enough out to be away from the crowd. Lots of parking and everyone in the complex was very nice and friendly. The owner Bob was very informative and available for questions. Mahalo Bob! It was wonderful
First, let me say that if you are worried about the Vog or the Laze from the volcano, don't be. This condo is on the coast. We were at the condo from the evening of June 6th to June 14th and didn't have any problems with Vog or Laze. If you love the Big Island of Hawai'i as much as we do, please don't let the media scare you away. We did buy some masks but never used them and we returned them to Amazon when we returned.
The condo is centrally located, so it is easy to get to all points of the island. The grocery store and shops are close. What I liked most about this condo was the waves crashing against the shore and the ability to view surfers, turtles and other activities all from the lanai.
During my stay I had some great interactions with Bob via email, with some suggestions and they were well received. I would definitely put this as an option on my list when I return to the Big Island in the future!
My family of four, two adults and two teens, highly enjoyed our stay in Bali Kai #407. Kitchen equipped for was in cooking. Grilled down by the seawall each night. Spent hours on the lanai watching the surfers. No issues whatsoever. Highly recommend this rental!
We had a absolutely wonderful trip! Enjoyed everything from the restaurants in Kona, to the beaches north of the city and the snorkeling to the south. Great location, very clean and cozy accomodations, wonderful view of the ocean and surfers and a very pleasant experience communicating with the condo owner. Couldn't be any happier!
Have been coming to the Big Island for over 15 years. This oceanfront condo is centrally located on Ali'i Drive, is well appointed and operated by an attentive owner. Oh, ya, the sunset and view of the best surf spot on the Big Island are right outside your lanai.
#405 in the Banyon Tree complex (4 floors and about 20 units) has it all. Sunset views, surfer views, ocean breezes, the constant sound of the waves breaking on the rocks below you, an oceanside pool, easy reserved parking and a great location. Bob and Rhonda have thought of every detail and are a pleasure to deal with. The unit is very clean and well appointed. We can't wait to go back.
This is truly a beautiful property in a perfect side of town. The lanai is awesome to sit and watch the ocean any time of day. The unit is on the fourth floor of a very safe building. A code is required for the elevator and pool/hot tub area. There is a designated parking spot as well. The condo is fully stocked for your needs and there is a convenient market right across the street. Everything was super clean. The only negative is the lack of AC which is hardly needed due to the nice breezs off the ocean. We just happened to be there during a rare humid time. We would definitely return to this unit!
The BEST Condominium Building (0nly 20 units) on Oceanfront Property in Kona.
We love staying at this condo. Everything you want is there, you can't beat the view, the hosts are very accommodating. We'll be back.
Thank you, Bob, for a wonderful stay in your VRBO. It's a great layout and beautiful setting. The pool setting is so relaxing and private. The surfers are a steady stream of entertainment. Lots of turtles and yellow tang to view from our Lanai! And even a couple of spinner dolphins! Thank you for thinking of everything! Anna and Tim Wilde
We loved the Banyan Tree #405.
The location is fantastic, close to services but far enough away so it's not touristy.
Loved watching the Sunsets, Surfer's and Dolphin's from the lanai.
Plenty of space for our family of four. Well stocked with supplies and necessities.
Great VRBO experience, totally recommend staying here.
This was a lovely condo with a stunning view - I don't think there are pictures that could ever do it justice. The balcony is bigger than it appears - the three of us would sit out there every morning and evening, watching surfers, taking in the glorious sunsets - it was the perfect
way to bookend the day.
The front/master bedroom is separated from the main area by a screened wall divider, so may not be ideal if, for instance, you're traveling with another couple that has different sleeping patterns than you - but this was never an issue for us. If anything, ocean waves are the best white noise machine ever.
Highly recommend and hope to return. Mahalo to Bob for sharing his home and being so quick to respond to our questions.
